Moonshadow Cruises wins at the NSW tourism industry awards

Celebrations all round, as Moonshadow Cruises proudly accepted the top award for Major Tour and Transport Operator last night (17th November) at the NSW Tourism Awards held in the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. Janene Rees, Sales and Business Development Manager at Moonshadow Cruises proudly accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Moonshadow Cruises is a family owned and operated business which began Dolphin Watch Cruises in 1981, sailing an 18 metre yacht which could hold up to 50 passengers. Demand for our cruises steadily grew and today Moonshadow Cruises operates four scheduled cruises plus private charters on three vessels – The largest and most luxurious vessels in Port Stephens and Newcastle Harbour.

Today, Moonshadow Cruises carries over 100 000 passengers annually and employ 13 full time, 1 permanent part time and 30 casual staff. The key to Moonshadow’s continued success over the years is our dedication to excellence in all aspects of the business combined with the insight and innovation to sustain growth through the ever changing trends of society and the world.

Through Janene’s networking efforts, Moonshadow Cruises is now regarded by Tourism NSW as one of the strongest tourism operators in a regional area. As a result, we are regularly invited to attend and showcase Moonshadow Cruises at regular International Trade Events.

Starting at the product level, Moonshadow Cruises has built the destination up predominately in the international market with the support of the local regional tourism organisation. The result has seen new and innovative ways of increasing visitation from domestic and international markets in particular China, Hong Kong & India.

Overall, we would like to thank all of our customers, staff and supporters for making this achievement possible.
