Cruise Whitsunday's 7th Birthday week was capped off in style when they took out two major awards at the annual Whitsundays Tourism Awards.
The company was the recipient of the "Major Tour & Transport Operator" award and the "Major Attractions" award for its Knuckle Reef pontoon operation on the Great Barrier Reef.
Representing the company at the Awards event along with the CEO Peter Duncan were six staff, each from a different area of the company's operation. Peter commented "It was a great night taking out two such prestigious awards so it was very appropriate that some of our team were here to enjoy the event and relay the good news back to others."
Cruise Whitsundays has come a long way from its inaugural launch with just one vessel to what it is today with its modern fleet of six vessels operating to the Great Barrier Reef, the awesome Camira sailing adventure to Whitehaven, an extensive range of island day cruises and the largest network of ferries providing Resort Connections between Airlie Beach, Daydream, Long, South Molle Islands and Hamilton Island Airport.
Co-owner Chris Jacobs said the awards recognised the high standard of marine operations that Cruise Whitsundays with its modern vessels, innovative products and great staff have brought to the region. "The company has gone from new kid on the block to being an integral part of the region’s tourism product. The awards will take pride of place in our sales office for all to see."
