The Golden Backpacks Winner

Habitat HQ has been recognized with another industry award, continuing its winning streak and adding another ‘gold’ to its tally in 2011.

Habitat HQ were awarded their second consecutive Golden Backpack Award for ‘Best Backpacker in Victoria 2011’at the Golden Backpack Awards Backpacker Industry Gala Dinner in Sydney last week.

The Golden Backpack Awards are the only Australian Backpacker specific industry award run and audited by TNT Magazine. In 2011 the Australian industry awards were voted for by over 18,000 online independent travelers, and is a sought after accolade in each state and territory.

Nicola Smith, Business Development and Marketing Manager, Elaine Gilligan, Operations Manager and Lee Mahoney, Assistant Duty Manager excitedly received the award on behalf of all the Habitat HQ staff.

Proud to win for a second consecutive year, Habitat HQ staff continue to promote St Kilda and Melbourne and its live music scene as ‘must do’ experiences for all international independent travelers to Australia.

Habitat HQ is located on St Kilda Road, St Kilda, in Melbourne’s premier bayside tourist precinct. Offering dorm and motel style accommodation for over 230 guests, Habitat HQ were also awarded the coveted RACV Victorian Tourism Award for backpacker accommodation in 2010.
