Tourism Australia are doing their best promote Working Holidays and encourage young travellers to consider Australia as a place to work or travel. To do this Tourism Australia has released a new campaign called "30 days in Oz".
The campaign consists of 30 one minute online videos, each following Australians or travellers in several locations around Australia. The one minute videos include: surfing, native wildlife, swimming with sharks, bungee jumping, music and more.
There are heaps of job opportunities in Australia for a wide range of travellers. A working holiday is a great way to experience the true Australian Culture. Finding a job soon after you arrive in Australia is a great way to gain income, meet new friends and to become familiar with the area.
Generally to work in Australia you will require the following: a tax file number, resume (CV), a contact number and a visa. Most travellers will apply for a "Working Holiday Visa" before entering Australia.
You can apply for "Working Holiday Visa" if you are between 18 and 30 years of age and looking at staying in Australia for up to 12 months. Under this visa you may have casual or temporary work throughout the 12 month stay; however, you may not work for the same employer for more than 6 months.
Your passport must also be valid for the length of your stay and you must have access to sufficient funds to support yourself for the initial stage of your holiday in Australia.
If you are looking for employment in Australia it is also recommended that you have an Australian bank account. The majority of employers in Australia will prefer to pay you electronically rather than cash in hand.
A "Working Holiday Visa" gives young adults the chance to enhance their travel experience with work, it also lets them gain independence, life experience and earn some money while having a one-of-a-kind holiday.

When I first came to Australia, I was on a working holiday visa. It was a fantastic way to see the country and earn some money along the way to pay for my travels. When I got home I had had a great time and didn't have a huge credit card bill to pay off.
I also got to make some really good friends. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
