Adelaide

Adelaide

Adelaide is the capital of South Australia. It is a calm city divided into two parts, Adelaide and North Adelaide, which are separated by Torrens River.

Adelaide is a beautiful place to visit all year round as there are a diverse range of landscapes in and around Adelaide including green parkland, the Mount Lofty Ranges and coastal beaches.

Adelaide is home to a range of historic buildings, wide streets, various street cafes and restaurants and shops of all descriptions. I found that walking was a great way to enjoy the city as there several short walks that allow you to enjoy much of the city.

Another great way to experience Adelaide is to take an organised tour. Popular tours include taking a river cruise, an Adelaide guided city tour and visiting Kangaroo Island or the local wildlife parks. It is also well worth visiting the magnificent Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale wine regions. However, I would recommend joining an organised tour so you can enjoy the delicious wines and not have to worry about driving.

There are also plenty of adventurous activities available in Adelaide such as mountain biking or swimming with dolphins. One thing I loved doing was abseiling in the Adelaide Hills!

If you are looking to stay in Adelaide there are heaps of accommodation options available in outside of the Adelaide CBD. You can stay at hotels, motels hostels or bed and breakfasts.
